Terms and Conditions


1) PRICES

Prices are in GB pounds (£) and include standard delivery charges. There is no VAT to add as we are not VAT registered. We reserve the right to vary our prices at any time. The price you see is the price you pay.

2) PAYMENT

a) Paypal
You do NOT have to sign up to Paypal to pay for your goods. Paypal is an immediate, secure online payment system that lets you send payments free of charge using your debit card or credit card. Simply use the “checkout” system to pay for your order. Paypal then issues you with a receipt and emails us confirmation of payment, products required and delivery information. We will send you an email confirming your order has been received. PayPal is accepted by thousands of businesses worldwide and is the preferred payment method on eBay with currently over 96.2 million accounts! Your financial information is not shared with us so you have peace of mind it is confidential. We have personally used Paypal regularly for over 2 years without any problems. b) Cheque / Postal Order / Bank Transfer
If you prefer to pay by one of these methods, do not use the checkout system.
Email or post your order to us including all details of the products required. Eg. Description, quantities, codes and how you will be paying. Make sure you include your full name, delivery address, email address and contact telephone number in case of any query. We will send you an email to confirm your order has been received then another when payment cleared and goods have been dispatched. If paying by Cheque or postal order, make payable to “Alan Wright”.

c) Payment must clear before any goods are dispatched.

3) DELIVERY

a) We aim to dispatch your order within 2 working days of cleared payment using either Royal Mail 1st Class post or Standard Parcels service.

b) You should receive your good(s) within 3 days or ordering, however, please allow up to 7 days to account for any Royal Mail delays. We always obtain an official “proof of posting” certificate which includes basic loss or damage cover up to the value of approx £30. However, for single items listed on our site with a value over £30 the cost of extra insurance is included in the product price.

c) We are not responsible for damaged or lost goods once in the hands of Royal Mail but will assist you in any claim made against them.

d) If an item purchased is out of stock we will inform you within 1 working day, to advise of an estimated delivery date. If this date is not acceptable we will offer an alternative or a refund. We are rarely out of stock and if it does happen can usually re-stock within a few days.

e) We are totally committed to providing a friendly, fast and professional service. We will do our utmost to ensure you receive your goods quickly and in perfect condition, and always professionally wrap and package so there is minimal danger of damage.

4) RETURNS

a) Please inspect goods immediately upon receipt and notify us without delay if any items are missing or damaged.

b) We will refund or exchange good(s) if returned to us within 7 working days from the date of delivery. This is providing they are in a pristine re-saleable condition, i.e. original packaging, new and unopened.

c) You are responsible for postage costs incurred when returning any good(s) to us.

d) If a refund is required, please return good(s) with the original (or copy) packing slip if available, with a note explaining the reason, and details of your name, phone number, postal and email address. We will then contact you by email to confirm receipt of the good(s) and arrange a refund for the specific good(s) returned within 7 working days, providing you have met condition b) above.

e) If an exchange is required, please contact us first so we can assist in ensuring the replacement will meet your requirements.

f) For exchanges that were originally paid for via the Paypal Checkout, please purchase the good(s) you now require from the “shopping” page and pay via Paypal. We will dispatch to you within 2 working days. Return the unwanted good(s) to us, including the original (or copy) packing slip/invoice if available, with a note confirming your name, phone number, postal and email address. We will then contact you by email to confirm receipt of the good(s) and arrange a refund via Paypal of the original unwanted good(s) within 7 working days, providing you have met condition b) above.


g) For exchanges that were originally paid for by Cheque, Postal Order or Bank Transfer, please return the unwanted good(s) to us, including the original (or copy) packing slip/invoice if available, with a note confirming the products you now require and any additional payment if applicable. Please include your name, phone number, postal and email address also. We will contact you by email to confirm receipt of the good(s). Once payment has cleared we will dispatch the relevant good(s) within 2 working days. If the product(s) you now require are of a lesser value than the original product(s), we will arrange a refund of the difference within 7 working days, providing you have met condition b) above.

5) FAULTY GOODS

a) If you feel any product(s) supplied are faulty, firstly please contact us to describe the problem as we may be able to help without any need for returning them.

b) All of our products carry a 1 year guarantee. You may return faulty good(s) to us within 1 year from the date of dispatch. Please include the original packing slip/invoice if available with a note describing the problem and include your name, phone number, postal and email address. We will inspect the good(s) and if satisfied that the problem is not as a result of damage, misuse or incorrect installation, we will at our discretion offer a prompt replacement, or arrange a refund including standard 2nd Class UK postage fee incurred, within 7 working days for the good(s) in question.

6) CANCELLATION OF ORDER

a) You may cancel your order at any point from the time of ordering until 7 working days after delivery. Please email us at sales@phonesockets.co.uk giving your name, transaction id and a reason for cancellation. We will reply confirming your cancellation request has been received and confirm whether the order has been dispatched or not.

b) Cancellations prior to the order being dispatched - once cancellation request received, we will arrange a refund of the purchase price of cleared funds received.

c) Cancellations after the order has been dispatched – once you receive the order, please package well and return to us (at your own cost) including the original packing slip/invoice if available with a note explaining the reason for cancellation, including your name, phone number, postal and email address. When we receive the good(s) back and are happy they are in a re-saleable condition, i.e.: pristine condition, new and unopened, we will arrange a refund of the purchase price of cleared funds received.

d) Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.

7) DESCRIPTIONS

a) We take great care in describing products as accurately as possible, however, we do reserve the right to withdraw or amend any description without prior notice, due mainly to manufacturer’s changes and improvements.

b) It is sometimes necessary to send a substitute item or improved version of a product. The pictures are for illustrative purposes only and the actual product may vary slightly. If this is not acceptable to you, please notify us at the time of placing your order. All sizes and dimensions where given are approximate but as accurate as possible.

c) Our black cable is manufactured to BT Spec CW1308 and made of solid copper core twisted pair. It is not stranded cable.  The colour of the cable is black/grey and is matt - not shiny "jet" black. The manufacturer labels the cable as "black". The sheath is UV stabilised which means it will not deterioate in sunlight, making it more suitable for outside use.  We do not supply BT external Specification cable at is is very heavy, and inpractical to use unless you are a telephone engineer.  The cable is difficult to strip back and contains 10 wires and is filled with silicon gel.  It is also very expensive and heavy to post meaning the prices of our kits would be very costly.  For DIY installations we recommend our BT Spec cable and are confident you will be satisfied with it.  Our feedback is proof of that.  If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

8) PRIVACY

a) We are committed to protecting your privacy. We will only use the information that we collect about you lawfully and all records are held securely.
b) We collect information about you purely to process your order and to provide you with the best customer service we can. We will not pass your details onto any other third parties.
c) The type of information we collect about you includes your Name, Address, phone number and Email Address. We do not have access to your credit or debit card details when you pay via the Paypal system.
d) We may occasionally ask customers for feedback on our products and services to display on our website. We will always obtain your explicit prior consent before doing so.
e) All information is collected through the ordering/registration process (in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998).

9) INVOICES

You will be sent a “packing slip” with your order showing the products purchased and the price. If however you require an invoice, please contact us.

10) FEEDBACK

We are always keen to hear from our customers whether your comments are good or bad. If you are happy with our service please tell us, if you are not or have suggestions for improvements please do let us know.
